Wild Rice Soup

1 chicken breast cooked and chopped up 
1/4 cup minced onions
1 T cornstarch
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups cooked wild rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
One and a half cups half-and-half
1/2 cup chopped ham
1/2 cup velveta
3 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds

Sauté ham and onions.mixed broth onions half-and-half heat to boil. add rice ,carrots salt ,ham ,simmer 10 minutes. add cheese and almonds.cook till cheese is melted ,thicken with cornstarch.
